Fans of the hit anime series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners can bring a piece of the show directly into Cyberpunk 2077 by unlocking David Martinez's iconic yellow jacket. This stylish piece of outer torso gear was introduced as part of the 1.6 update, connecting the anime's storyline with Night City. Acquiring this legendary clothing item requires completing a brief side job that takes players on a small easter egg hunt across Santo Domingo.

Starting the Over the Edge Quest

To begin your search for the iconic outerwear, head over to Megabuilding H4 located in the Arroyo district of Santo Domingo. Walk around the east side of the building until you discover a quiet alleyway marked with a glowing green Edgerunners symbol. In a trash can right next to the painted wall, you will find a braindance wreath ready to be inspected.

Watching the Braindance and Contacting El Capitan

Equipping and playing the braindance triggers a short video clip featuring scenes related to the anime. Once the playback concludes, your journal updates with the Over the Edge side job, prompting you to message the fixer Muamar "El Capitan" Reyes. Open your phone to send El Capitan a text asking about David Martinez and the clip you just witnessed.

Waiting for Falco's Message

After reaching out to El Capitan, you must wait approximately 24 in-game hours for a follow-up response. You can easily fast-forward this waiting period by utilizing the skip time feature inside your character menu or taking a rest at V's apartment. Eventually, Falco, a surviving member of David's original crew, will contact V via text message to discuss David's legacy.

Claiming David Martinez's Jacket

Falco will explain that while the crew has gone underground, he left a special gift for V in the care of El Capitan. Follow the new objective marker to the scenic overlook in the Badlands near El Capitan's usual spot. Locate the small box resting on the ledge behind the viewpoint, open it, and claim David's bright yellow EMT jacket to complete the quest.
